Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker contender on the globe by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn everything he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the negative comments from others annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is learning every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Even though Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a normal basis.
