No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker contender on the planet by many of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the negative feedback from other people destroy his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

He began competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a learning period and winning was not a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
