Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and a single joker. The player is assigned 7 cards face up and the dealer is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and a 2 card hand must be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the casino’s.
